Incubation Center Project carried out together with Habitat Association within the scope of Sabancı Republic Mobilization; aims to keep the qualified workforce in the region with the Incubation Center established in Hatay, the most affected province after the February 6, 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake. By enabling remote working and employment, it will create a working environment for work, capacity building and initiatives. By making it a local development platform, the specific target group affected by the earthquake will gain new generation competencies through provided trainings; it aims to open new ways for them in terms of employment and to ensure economic and social recovery in the region in the long term.

The Sustainable Fishing Project is going to carry out for the purpose of both protecting marine biodiversity and developing the fishing industry in Adana Karataş Region, one of our activity regions. The biggest problem in the region is the increasing plastic waste in the sea. Fishermen who are the Fisheries Cooperative members of the region, will meet their energy needs from; renewable energy sources (installing a solar panel on the roof of the cooperative); recycling the plastic waste, collected by the fishermen and local people, in the recycling center to be established in the cooperative; increasing the awareness of the local people through education and volunteering activities, and reducing the plastic waste; a sustainable system will be established through activities as such. At the same time, by knitting fishing nets, the visibility of women, who are in the sector but invisible, will be ensured. Fishermen will be trained and their technical capacity will be increased. By providing training to teachers, students, restaurants and tourism businesses awareness will be increased. Volunteer activities will be organized to disseminate the project, increase its visibility and raise the awareness of our employees on this issue. Our employees and local people will participate in activities such as beach and port cleaning, waste separation, and removing ghost nets from the sea. The project will be carried out in cooperation with Karataş Fisheries Cooperative and Karataş Municipality.

With the equipment support, structural supports and given trainings to producers within the scope of the project, planned in line with the 3 basic problems we identified regarding the market development of cooperatives and local producers producing in the field of agriculture, will produce products at the correct quality assurance standards, increase their production capacities and have the opportunity to offer their products to large markets. We will increase production capacities by making physical improvements where needed. Marketplace support will be provided to producers who produce at right standards. Carrefoursa will purchase the relevant products under conditions that will be advantageous to the manufacturer and place them in its markets.

We see the protection and increase of honey forests among our main responsibilities. After the 2 honey forests we restored in Çanakkale the previous year, we are reviving 5 more honey forests this year.

We are establishing the infrastructure that beekeepers need, from transmission lines to water pools, from road construction to bee milking machines, in 5 honey forests.

In addition to 650 beekeepers from the honey forests who are members of the Çanakkale Beekeepers' Union, approximately 350 itinerant beekeepers in the surrounding provinces; a total of 1000 beekeepers and their families will benefit, at least 10,000 beehives and 100 tons of honey will be milked, and $500,000 income will be created for our beekeepers.
