Sabancı Holding has donated 10 tons of new generation disinfectant to the Ministry of Health to assist in fighting against Covid-19. Thanks to this donation, a 1.5 million square metre area will be able to be disinfected. It will be possible to lessen the burden on healthcare staff with the Antimic product, which has been developed by the Sabancı University and provides hygiene against bacteria and viruses on the areas of application for up to 3 months.
With its development studies in the Nanotechnology Laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the Sabancı University, under the leadership of Mr. Prof Yusuf Menceloğlu, the Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the Sabancı University, Antimic was produced using the raw material that was proven to be effective against SARS, which originated from the same family as the corona virus. Patented by the Sabancı University, Antimic has the type 2 licence issued by the Ministry of Health. Antimic is water based and broad spectrum without any heavy metal and permanent toxic chemical content that is hazardous for human health, and has a lasting effect on the area of application. It provides excellent protection thanks to the very thin, glassy and elastic protective layer it forms on surfaces in living areas and on clothes. This layer prevents bacteria and viruses from taking hold in the environment.
