The European porcelain exhibit from the Topkapı Palace Museum, which includes a total of 5,000 pieces of porcelain, has been put on display at SabancıUniversity's Sakıp Sabancı Museum in an exhibition. The opening of the exhibition, in which many selected pieces of porcelain and wall tiles are on display, was attended by head of the university's board of directors Güler Sabancı, Rector Tosun Terzioğlu, Sakıp Sabancı Museum director Nazan Ölçer, Sakıp Sabancı Museum consultant Filiz Çağman and numerous invited guests from academic,culture and business circles.
Porcelain coffee services, a center piece in Ottoman daily life, covered plates, wash basins, ewers, a Russian dinner set, which was a present from Russian Czar Nikolas I, and selected German, French and Austrian porcelain pieces are available for viewing at the exhibition which was put on with the cooperation of the Tourism Ministry's General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums. The exhibition can be seen until Aug.18th.
