Sabancı Holding Chairperson Guler Sabancı will attend as an invitee the International Business Council (IBC) 2008 Winter Meeting to be held within the scope of the World Economic Forum Davos Summit.
Guler Sabancı will be the only Turkish businessperson at the meeting.
The meeting to be held on Wednesday, January 23, of IBC, which acts as an “advisory board” on the policies to be pursued by the World Economic Forum (WEF), will be attended by prominent personalities steering the global economy, including Deutsche Bank’s Chairperson Josef Ackerman, The Goldman Sachs Group’s CEO Lloyd Blankfein, Nestle SA’s CEO Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Unilever Group’s CEO Patrick Cescau, Cisco System’s CEO John Chambers, JP Morgan Chase & CO’s CEO James Dimon, Lehman Brothers’ CEO Richard Fuld Jr., Sony’s CEO Howard Stringer, Vodafone’s CEO Arun Sarin, Google’s Chairperson Başkanı Eric Schmidt, and BP’s Chairperson Peter D. Sutherland.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and former U.S. Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger are expected to deliver a speech each at the meeting.
International Business Council (IBC), of which some 100 influential and respected executives of companies operating in different fields worldwide are members, aims at discussing and creating solutions to various problems concerning the business world. IBS also renders advisory services on the intellectual management of the World Economic Forum. Members of the International Business Council (IBC) are elected under several criteria, through an assessment performed by the Executive Committee on the personal qualities and institutions of the candidates. IBC convenes two times a year.
