The Sabancı Group volunteers who will be on the field between the dates October 29 – November 10 for 13 days, will commemorate the Great Leader Atatürk by working. The group will contribute in repairing the damages of the recent environmental disasters suffered in our country and raising awareness on volunteering through the movement.
The details regarding the Sabancı Republic Movement were communicated to the public through a press conference organized under the spokesmanship of Sabancı Holding CEO Cenk Alper in Adana, in Kızlarsekisi Village of Kozan district where the first fires began in July.
After the conference Cenk Alper, together with the Sabancı Group executives and hundreds of Sabancı Volunteers, planted saplings to regreen the places that burnt to the ground and worked to revive the land.
Cenk Alper: “We Have Been On the Field by the Side of Our Citizens Since Day One”
Saying that they have been working on the field since day one to repair the damages of the environmental disasters experienced in the summer months, Cenk Alper added: “As the Sabancı Group we have always been on the field, by the side of our people since the day we were founded. Now, we are in the field with all our employees simultaneously, laying claim to these lands. As Hacı Ömer Sabancı said 96 years ago, when he was planting the seeds of this Group; “’Sharing what we have obtained from this land with its people,” is our foremost principle, priority.”
Stating that they are very proud and happy to carry out such a project on the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Republic, Cenk Alper added; “This year to celebrate the Republic we are carrying our digging tools, hives and sapling as well as our flags in our hands. As all Sabancı Volunteers we will be on the field between the dates October 29 – November 10. We thought this movement would be the best way to celebrate the Republic, to glorify the legacy of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. For we know that the Republic is not just a regime. The Republic is to always stay on the course of modernization. The Republic is to know the value of these lands. To lay claim on each tree, each drop of water, air in this country. To owe your existence to these lands. On November 10 we will present all our volunteer work to our Leader and commemorate Him just as he would want us to, by working hard.”
Cenk Alper, emphasizing the importance of doing good, spreading the good and volunteering for the Sabancı Group said the following: “I see how much our Group employees, our Sabancı Volunteers have adopted this movement, internalized its meaning on their faces with great happiness. As they keep spreading the good, our strength, will to succeed increases even more. In the words of our valuable master, synonymous with these lands Yaşar Kemal: “The human takes place in the universe with its heart...” Our Sabancı Volunteers remind us of the value of these words at every opportunity.
