Sabancı Holding Will Take 10 Young People To 2012’s One Young World Summit to Be Held In the USA

Sabancı Holding will take a group of Turkish young people to "One Young World", the world's largest youth meeting, which will be held in Zurich on October 18 - 22. The participation costs of the ten young people who qualify will be covered by Sabancı Holding.  There will be a two-tier selection process following the closing of applications on May 31st.

The selection process consists of video submissions and interviews. Those young people who wish to participate should send a one-minute video in English to facebook.com/sabanciholding, in which they present their own recommendations for the solution of the world's problems. 10 young people who will be selected by interviews among those who pass the first phase will represent Turkey in Pittsburgh, USA.  1500 young people as well as names like Sir Bob Geldof, Mohammed Yunus, Jamie Oliver, Arianna Huffington are expected to attend One Young World this year.

In addition to all of the young people attending the One Young World summit having been born in 1994 or later, it is expected that they will be inclined to teamwork, have leadership potential, be interested in global problems and have participated in voluntary activities.

The first meeting of this summit, which is also called as the "Young Davos" was held in London on February 8-10, 2009 and the second one in Zurich on September 1-4, 2011. Among the more than 1000 delegates from 192 countries in the One Young World Summit, there were young representatives from Turkey under the sponsorship of Sabancı Holding. In previous years, some of the names who took part in the summit and provided insights to young people were Kofi Annan, Sabancı Holding Chairwoman of the Board

Güler Sabancı, Prince of Norway Haakon and Princess Mette- Marit, Unilever CEO

Paul Polman, musician Joss Stone, footballer Clarence Seedorf and activist Wael Ghonim.
