Sabancı Holding’s Chairman of the Board Guler Sabancı is to be honored with the Highest Decoration of the Republic of Austria

Guler_Sabancı_320x240.jpgSabancı Holding's Chairman of the Board Guler Sabancı is to be honored with the "Silbernes Ehrenkreuz der Republik Osterreich", the Highest Decoration of the Republic of Austria. This decision of the Austrian Government was driven by the importance that Guler Sabancı gives to the relationship between Turkey and Austria, and by her many contributions to the improvement of this relationship.

The decoration will be presented to Guler Sabancı by Reinhold Mitterlehner, the Austrian Minister of the Economy, Family and Youth in a ceremony which will be held at the Albertina Museum in Vienna on the 13th of April, 2010.

Guler Sabancı, who received a decoration from Italy in 2002, was also presented with the "Leopold II Commander Decoration" by Armand de Decker, the President of the Belgian Senate, in 2007, for her many contributions to the economic relationship between Turkey and Belgium.   In 2009, in a ceremony held in honor of King Juan Carlos I, Guler Sabancı was presented with "Encomienda De Numero Decaoration", Spain's highest decoration of merit by Elena Salgado, the Second Vice President of the Government of Spain, for her contributions to the relationship between the two countries.
