- THE 2001 SABANCI SPRING'S ELECTION PERIOD OPENS
- THE YOUTH WILL ORGANIZE THEIR IDEAL FESTIVAL - THROUGH FACEBOOK.
- SABANCI HOLDING CEO MR. ZAFER KURTUL: "WE ARE GENUINELY PLEASED TO BE MEETING WITH OUR YOUTH AT THE SABANCI SPRING"
- "WE TOO ARE IMPATIENT TO SEE THIS FESTIVAL ORGANIZED BY THE YOUTH, SO THAT WE CAN ALL RELAX TOGETHER BY TAKING PART IN ALL OF THE CULTURAL AND ARTISTIC ACTIVITIES"
The voting period for Sabancı Spring has opened. The Sabancı Spring is organized by Sabancı Holding and unlike the many other festivals held at universities, its content is determined by the votes of the young people themselves. For the Sabancı Spring, the youth are designing the entire festival themselves, the way that they want it, all through the social networking site facebook. During May, after the votes have been counted, the most highly preferred festival content will be presented by Sabancı Holding at five different universities.
During the voting period, run under the "Have Fun Your Own Way" motto, the youth will select, through the facebook.com/Sabancıholding page, which festival content they want on their campuses. Last year, the Sabancı Spring daytime activities included Chocolate, Design, Pottery, Music and Painting Workshops, which together delivered culture, art and entertainment in one big bundle. This year, the newly selected workshops will likewise be organized and presented. In addition, this year young amateur bands and music groups will compete to perform in front of thousands on the main stage during the nighttime activities. Any amateur music groups who wish to participate can upload their videos or songs to facebook.com/Sabancıholding .
In a statement, Sabancı Holding's CEO Mr. Zafer Kurtul noted: "We, the Sabancı Group, undertake many social activities in a broad range of areas. The Sabancı Spring a project where we can meet with young people and get to actually learn quite a lot from them. The Sabancı Spring's aim is to get to know the youth better, and they can also come to know the Sabancı Group better. The Sabancı Spring is an activity where we can meet with the young, have fun together, and contribute to each other's understandings."
Mr. Kurtul continued: "As Sabancı, we are able to host a festival that the youth will design themselves, from the beginning to the end, so that we can all have fun together on university campuses. Our festival is an activity that will contribute to our social lives not only recreationally, but also culturally and artistically. In the cultural and artistic workshops held in the daytime, the youth will be exposed to a range of different experiences that they would not otherwise always have the chance to access."
Sabancı Holding CEO Mr. Zafer Kurtul also said that while they reached 200,000 young people during last year's Sabancı Spring, by going to different universities this year they aim to increase this figure further.
