Joining Akbank’s Legal Department in 2000, Cerrahoğlu initially assumed responsibility for litigation and debt recovery processes involving the bank’s branches. Between 2001 and 2016, she worked in legal advisory, overseeing legal processes related to contract management, project finance, syndicated loans, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets transactions. Following her managerial role in the Legal Advisory Department, she took part in the establishment and structuring of the Litigation Department. With significant experience in legal advisory, legal dispute management, and labor law, Semra Cerrahoğlu has also assumed responsibility for representing the bank before judicial and administrative authorities and managing legal teams. She currently serves as Deputy General Counsel at Akbank.
Semra Cerrahoğlu completed her undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Law of Istanbul University.
