MS. GÜLER SABANCI: “WE HAVE FAITH IN THE YOUTH”
Ms. Güler Sabancı, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sabancı Holding, published a message on the occasion of the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. Ms. Sabancı highlighted in her message, “We are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the commencement of the war of independence in Samsun by Atatürk, the founder of our Republic. We understand from the concept of “war of independence” that it was not simply a war against armies but a struggle of a nation to establish a future in all areas of life. We also consider that the best way to commemorate Atatürk is to figure out his thoughts beyond age and time. For this reason, the quotation of Atatürk we have adopted as a constant guide for ourselves, suggesting that “My moral heritage is science and reason. Anyone willing to appropriate my ideas for themselves after me will be my moral inheritors, provided they would approve the guidance of science and reason on this axis,” has been made permanent in the Sabancı University whose 20th anniversary was celebrated by us.
We are working to take the objectives designated by Atatürk to the future with all companies of the Sabancı Group and particularly the youth who graduate from the Sabancı University and succeed all across the world. In order to have a brighter future in all areas, we believe in our “young individuals with free minds, clear consciences and filled with wisdom” who do not deviate from the path of science, are equipped with an innovative perspective and rationalist thoughts and are bound with universal values at heart. I celebrate the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day with these feelings and remember particularly Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our country, who achieved our independence and civilisation and all his fellow fighters with respect and grace.
