AKÇANSA MOVES TO EXPAND CAPACITY
Akçansa, Turkish JV of HeidelbergCement AG, will invest more than 100 million euros to increase the production capacity of its Çanakkale plant.
The plant will up its output to 5.7 mln tonnes from 3.8 mln by 2007 as a result of the investments.
HeidelbergerCement and Turkey's Sabancı Holding launched the joint venture in 1996. Akçansa is Turkey's leading cement and ready-mixed concrete manufacturer.
