Sabancı Holding has become involved in the management of the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), which is the top organisation of global cement manufacturers, representing 30 percent of global cement production and the world’s largest construction material manufacturers.
Bringing together the cement and construction material manufacturers operating from all over the world, the Annual General Meeting of the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) was held in London. The meeting in which the CEOs of more than thirty companies that are members of the GCCA participated, was attended by Mr. Dr. Tamer Saka, the President of the Cement Group of Sabancı Holding, and Ms. Ülkü Özcan, the General Director of Çimsa. Mr. Dr. Tamer Saka, the President of the Cement Group of Sabancı Holding, was elected to the Board of Directors of the GCCA in the meeting.

Mentioning that Turkey had a privileged position in global cement markets, Mr. Saka, Board Member of the GCCA noted, “Our country ranks first in cement production in the European market and ranks fourth in the global market. Besides contributing to the sustainability of the industry, the GCCA guides our industry in encouraging innovation at each stage of the supply chain. The quantity of cement production represented by the GCCA members is about 2 billion tons. Within this framework, we regard our involvement in the Board of Directors of the GCCA, where the leading manufacturers of the world come together, as an important responsibility. We are particularly proud of Çimsa’s membership of the GCCA, which is a globally effective structure.
