He was the Sakıp Aga of Turkey. We miss and long for him just like on the first day, despite the elapsed time. The common feeling of everyone, regardless of their working with him, is that Mr. Sakıp was an inspiring person who affected those around him with his leadership qualifications and eagerness to work. He always believed in and supported innovation and new ideas throughout his life. The most prominent characteristic of him was his positive energy. Communication, sharing and transparency were his favourite characteristics which made him “him”. He told us the importance of sincerity and modesty throughout his life. He made us embrace the element of confidence. His saying of “Be an associate and a friend and have associates and friends. People become happy when they love and are loved.” is still in our minds just like on the first day. Mr. Sakıp pioneered important activities in all areas from art to education, he gave a helping hand and provided support to those who were in need. Over 60,000 employees of the Sabancı Group successfully followed and continue to follow his path with the same awareness and sensibility. Being a source of pride for our Group with this hardworking and vision and inspiring all of us to achieve better results, Mr. Sakıp would have been proud of all our employees if he had been alive. With this occasion, I commemorate him with longing and grace once more and thank all of you for your participation.”
