“Our people have realized the Presidential election in the first round in unity with a great democratic maturity. This is extremely satisfactory for the Turkish democracy.
Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been elected as the President after a successful12-year Prime Ministry. I hereby congratulate him and wish it will be beneficial for our country.
As we start this new period, I would like to also thank Mr. Abdullah Gül who has completed successfully his seven-year duty as President with his foresighted and constructive approaches until today."
