Temsa presented its electrical bus to the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

The 6th Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week of Turkey, which is coordinated by the Ministry of Economy and organized by the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM), ended with the closing event held on Saturday, December 9, at the Istanbul Congress Center. During this event, MD9 electriCITY electrical bus, which is manufactured by Temsa, one of the leading Turkish automotive companies, was presented to the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by the Sabancı Holding’s chairman Güler Sabancı. The President Erdoğan was thoroughly briefed by the authorized officers about the vehicle having with the software and design entirely developed by the Turkish Engineers, and then he tested the performance of the bus on the route from Istanbul Congress Center in Harbiye to the Yıldız Palace in Beşiktaş. The President Erdoğan was informed that Temsa, the fourth largest company of the USA market, has total exportation volume close to 12 thousand and then Mr. President congratulated everyone who worked on this project.

Sabancı Group received three awards from the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week organized by the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly. Temsa Transportation Vehicles, a company of Sabancı Group, received the grand prize in the “Innovation Life Cycle Process” category of InovaLIG Awards; Kordsa received the third prize in the “Innovation Strategy” category. Furthermore, Sabancı Holding received the Open Innovation Award from the TIM Innovation Awards.
ABOUT MD9 ELECTRICITY
Reduces noise pollution
Temsa developed MD9 electriCITY based on the needs of transportation business; it is operated with electricity, a renewable source of energy, instead of fossil fuel and the silent bus highly contributes to the reduction of noise pollution in the cities.

Range of 230 kilometers
The three door structure of the MD9 electriCITY, which has 63-passanger capacity, provides fast pick-up and drop-off of passengers.
Vehicles using diesel fuel nearly have 300 moving parts but this electrical bus has only 5.
This bus has a 230-km range with 200 kwh battery and it can be charged in 6 hours.
Today, the vehicle is a 60 % domestic product and it is planned to increase this level up to 98 % in 2020 by producing the motor and drive shafts in Turkey.
